On 19th May 2017 the University of Silesia received the permission to use the logo of European Commission, HR Excellence in Research and to adopt the European Charter for Researchers, as well as the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. This way we have joined over 40 Polish institutions, which provide scientists with the best development possibilities.
The University of Silesia met the requirements for the educational institutions to implement the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct in the recruitment of the scientific staff. The documents prepared by the European Commission include recommendations for working conditions, staff mobility and career development. The recommendations also concern the clear recruitment rules, unified to fit into the international standards. The chosen institutions are subject to European Commission’s supervision in terms of progress and effects of implementing the rules of the Charter and Code.
Granting of the HR Excellence in Research logo is one of the European Commission’s actions in the frame of Human Resources Strategy for Researchers aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the working condition in the European Union. These actions should contribute to improving the number of scientific staff in the European institutions.
The effects of receiving HR Strategy for Researchers:
- Prestige for the institution and its distinction as the place that provides scientists with the best possible conditions for realization of scientific and research activities according to European standards.
- Significant improvement of the attractiveness of employment in the University, which creates proper working conditions and respects the transparent regulations of staff recruitment.
- Research units recognized in international grant contests of European Commission in Horizon 2020 Framework Programme, in the field of research and innovation.
- Right to submit European announcements in the Euraxess scientists recruitment platform.
