Delegation of the University of Silesia to China

In order to intensify the academic cooperation between Poland and China, the representatives of Polish universities will pay a visit to Beijing on 20th – 24th March 2017.

Among the Polish guests participating in the meeting will be not only representatives of the University of Silesia in Katowice (Prof. Ryszard Koziołek, Vice-Rector for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Agnieszka Tambor of the Faculty of Philology), but also of other Polish universities, such as Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Opole University of Technology, Wrocław University of Science and Technology and Lodz University of Technology.

The visit will contribute to establishing the Confucian Classes in the University of Silesia and aims at presenting the activity of the University of Silesia to Hanban (a branch of Chinese Ministry of Education).

Apart from supporting international exchange of students and academic staff, the University of Silesia already cooperates actively with such institutions as Beijing Foreign Studies University or Northeastern Univeristy in Shenyang (where the Centre for Polish Studies was established in 2015).

Polish delegates will visit the Beijing University of Technology and the Tianjin University of Technology, where the possibilities of broadening the cooperation between the institutions of the two countries will be discussed. As a result of these actions, the Letter of intent on establishing the Sino-Polish University Consortium, which will gather 23 higher education institutions from both Poland and China, will be drawn on 21st March 2017 in the Beijing University of Technology.
